It’s studying creative movements to predict what people will crave to wear before they even know it themselves. Forecasters are storytellers of tomorrow’s fashion world.

THE ASK
My group was tasked with compiling a comprehensive 30-slide presentation that forecasts the storytelling and visual exploration trends in menswear for the Spring/Summer 2027 season. Our present day influences led us to explore society’s infatuation with '“success” and the risks it takes to get there.

The Process

Our process began with an analysis of the growing trends in men’s culture. Through research we identified a zeitgeist and began to forecast which trends will be prominent in Spring/Summer 2027.

While crafting the vision for our forecast, we were sure to pull any and every media them exemplified the influences for Rolling the Dice.

This step featured us defining who exactly we are targeting and presenting it through mood boards, color stories, social influences, demographics, and psychographics.

In the phase, we spent hours scouring through runway looks, emerging street style trends, and prominent patterns to lay the foundation for what is to come. We were then able to confidently select which textiles we forecast for Spring/Summer 2027

The final step in the process. During the visual story, we made the final creative decisions on the direction this forecast story would go. Carefully curating the way in which the story would be told.

This collaboration reminded me to be curious. The world is constantly changing around us and it is imperative to leverage that for personal and professional growth. There is always something new to learn. There is always something new to experience.
